Membership Tea, Saturday, March 8, 2-4 PM
Guest Speaker/Performer Joana Ciurash

All new, prospective and current members are enthusiastically invited to join us for our Membership Tea on March 8th. Current members are encouraged to invite women and men who may be interested in learning about AAUW, meeting members and joining the organization.

Joana Ciurash, an Associate Professor of Chemistry at College of the Desert and an opera singer, will give a short talk about her unusual dual careers, and sing.

Last year, Joana was awarded best vocalist for her singing at Open Call at the McCallum. She has recorded three operas, and sung the lead roles of Santuzza in Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana and of Mimi in Puccini’s La Boheme.
